The Story

"Key on the Table" Story:
— A Tale of a Universe Within
Long ago, in a forgotten corner of the cosmos, there existed a realm unlike any other—a private universe, stitched together from stardust, dreams, and boundless imagination. This universe belonged to a quiet soul who had grown weary of the noise of judgment, the weight of rules, and the price tags placed on beauty. With hands tender yet determined, they carved a sanctuary in the fabric of space itself—a place where truth could enter uninvited and creativity could breathe freely. They placed a welcome mat at the edge of their world—not because they expected visitors, but in quiet hope that someone, someday, might come who understood. They left the door ajar, not flung wide, but just enough. Enough for honesty to slip in like moonlight through a crack in the curtains. Inside, the laws of physics gave way to the laws of the heart. Thoughts shaped matter. Wishes painted skies. Bubble-gum clouds floated by like pink balloons, and mountains were made of soft, sweet marshmallows. This was a world where imagination ruled, and the only limitation was the courage to dream. At the center stood a marble table suspended over infinity. Upon it lay a golden key—not to lock doors, but to unlock the self. No lock required turning, only thought. No password, only sincerity. There were no angels keeping watch, no devils to whisper doubt, and no judges to measure your worth with ancient scales. In this world, beauty was whatever you called it, and ugliness—well, that was just another word someone had misused once, long ago. Then, one day, someone found the universe. Maybe they were looking for it. Maybe it found them. They stepped onto the welcome mat. They saw the door. They paused. And then they stepped in. The host smiled—not a smile of surprise, but of recognition. “Welcome,” they said. “Make yourself at home.” The visitor looked around in wonder, heart trembling with the awe of freedom. “All is as you say it will be,” the host reminded gently. The visitor nodded. They reached for the key. But they didn’t need to. The door within them had already opened. And so, in this strange and sacred place, two souls met—not to change each other, but to be, freely, gloriously, themselves. Moral: There is a universe within you, waiting for your truth. The door is already cracked open. The key is already on the table. Welcome home.
The Poet's Words

Welcome to my universe
I put a welcome mat out
I don’t know, sometime
A long while ago
Left the door open a crack
For when an honest soul
And the truth came by
Make yourself at home
Create as you wish
Imagine!
Bubble-gum big as balloons
Mountains of marshmallows
I left the key on the table
Works with a simple thought
No angels or devils here, or
Judges who’ve been bought
Only your opinion on beauty
And on ugliness
All is as you say it will be
Create it and you will see
A universe where you are
Free to be YOU - and I am
Free to be ME
