"The Gathering" Story:
This painted poem is about “Family like a brush, a canvas, an art.” I guess that was something I finally came to understand as a grew older. For a kid who grew up without a traditional family structure it is not an easy road discovering what that word, “Family” actually means.
For some it’s a blessing and for others a curse, or so it seems. Yet, it is the fundamental building block of a culture, a society, of the human experience. Understanding that finally, I could see it deserves a place in any art collection. Family is indeed what the poem says, “… a canvas an art.” And this painting is my salute to the masters of that art form, namely the good mothers and fathers in this world.
